Wie die Gazzetta dello Sport berichtet, steigt dabei Viktor Gyökeres in der Gunst der Rossoneri. Der Schwede hat in dieser Saison für den portugiesischen Tabellenführer Sporting CP eine herausragende Bilanz von 36 Toren und 14 Assists in 39 Pflichtspielen aufzuweisen. Im Schnitt trifft der 25-Jährige alle 89 Minuten. Zuletzt erzielte Gyökeres auch bei der 2:5-Niederlage mit Schweden im Testspiel in Portugal ein Tor, tauschte nach dem Spiel Trikots mit Milan-Profi Rafael Leão, den er im Falle eines Wechsels als teuersten Neuzugang in der Geschichte des Klubs ablösen könnte. Um den Spieler, der auch aus England umworben ist, zu überzeugen, argumentiere Milan auch mit dem Karrriereweg von Gyökeres‘ Landsmann Zlatan Ibrahimović.
