AC Milan wants Kaká back

Jul 28, 2012 - 3:49 PM hours
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani earlier reiterated his desire for the club to re-sign Kaka, but admitted the financial issue could be a stumbling block.

Quoted in Corriere dello Sport, he said: "There's a long way to go with the negotiations. There are a thousand things that can scupper the deal, but great loves have the potential to surprise you.

"The important thing is that we've cast the first stone, but the ball is not in Milan's court.

"The financial issue remains that the two systems are very different. Once a player leaves one country he can't enjoy the same perks when he returns.

"We're certainly interested. Kaka is a great player who has stayed in the hearts of all Milan fans. Let's see. We'll do what we can."

He added in Gazzetta dello Sport: "We will do everything possible to bring him back to Milan, but we're under no illusions.

"We need to be patient but at least I'll be kept busy until the end of August."

AC Milan's C.E.O. Adriano Galliani confirmed to Radio MARCA that a meeting is planned with Real Madrid's president for the 8th August to look at the possibilities of the Italian team signing Kaká.

MARCA reported on 29th July that this meeting would happen, taking advantage of Real Madrid's tour of the US. "We'll speak to Florentino in New York. It's a very complicated deal because Kaká earns an awful lot of money but he's a player who is a part of our history", Galliani stated.

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has told AC Milan they must pay a transfer fee if they want Kaka to return to the San Siro.

"I would be happy if [Kaka] stays with us or is sold - what I want is that he himself is happy," Mourinho said. "It is always said in football that a player plays where he wants. My arms are open if he wants to continue - against Milan he showed also that he is a great player and can compete.

"But nobody goes for free to these places. If you want something, you have to pay for it."

Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani told the Italian channel Sky Sport 24 that although he would continue to negotiate with Real Madrid to bring Kaká back to the San Siro, he was not optimistic.

He said: "Signing Kaká is very difficult because the costs have risen and his salary is massive. I would say it's almost impossible. We'll keep talking, but I don't want to give our fans false hope. The transfer is very, very, very difficult."
The AC Milan chief executive told Sky Sport 24 that he was not optimistic about signing the Brazilian due to his large transfer fee and his "massive" salary - 9 million euros per year after tax.
