Market values Croatia: 18-year-old Biuk the biggest winner - Coveted Lovro Majer improves

After the market values of the most valuable players of the Croatian 1.HNL around the soon-to-be Leipzig player Josko Gvardiol were already adjusted recently as part of the European Championship players update, the rest of the league has now followed. The internationally coveted attacking midfielder Lovro Majer from champions Dinamo Zagreb has worked his way into the top five.

The 23-year-old increased his value by €3 million to €13 million. "Majer is one of the top performers at Dinamo and also the Croatian U21s," says TM data scout "stodra". "He has had a strong season in the league and Europa League, attracting interest from Eintracht Frankfurt, Zenit St. Petersburg and some Italian clubs."

Meanwhile, top talent Stipe Biuk from Hajduk Split receives the biggest upgrade. The 18-year-old breakthrough player of the season's final phase receives a starting market value of €4 million. Croatia expert "stodra" explains: "He is one of the most sought-after talents in Croatia and has earned a regular place since April, including three goals and assists. Especially Benfica is intensively linked with Biuk, but he is also on the list of other clubs."

Also earning upgrades are Hajduk's 19-year-old central defender Mario Vuskovic (+€3.5m to €6.5m), Dinamo's 25-year-old central defender Rasmus Lauritsen (+€3.5m to €6.5m) and top scorer Ramón Miérez from runners-up NK Osijek. The 24-year-old Argentine scored 22 goals in 31 games, after which the Croatians pulled the €2.5 million purchase option and signed him permanently from Deportivo Alavés. "Osijek now wants to sell Miérez for a profit, Dynamo Moscow and Red Bull Salzburg are traded as potential buyers. His market value doubles to €5 million," says "stodra".

Meanwhile, another Hajduk player took the biggest loss: offensive veteran Mijo Caktas, who actually played a good season and was on his way to Croatia's European Championship squad before "refusing to extend his expiring contract. That's why he was suspended for the rest of the season from February and missed out on jumping on the European Championship bandwagon," explains "stodra." Caktas loses €2.2 million to only €1.5 million.
