Shortly before the end of the postponed summer transfer window, Amin Younes joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Napoli. After six and a half years, the 27-year-old is back in the Bundesliga, and the move also turned out to be a good deal for SGE with a manageable risk: no loan fee has to be paid for Younes, who will stay until 2022 – on top of that, the Germans secured themselves an option to make the deal permanent.

“It was a longer process from the first contact to the signature. One must not forget that all three parties – the player and both clubs – must be involved with their possibilities and this must be brought down to a common denominator,” Marijo Knez tells Transfermarkt. The Frankfurt-born Croat is responsible for the German market at Base Soccer as an intermediary and thus also for Younes’ interests.

The agency communicates that they are “dedicated to the ongoing development and management” of professional footballer’s careers – and have been doing so for 20 years. Since 2018, more than 500 contracts have been completed worldwide. Players are supposed to be helped by “360-degree care” and by keeping negative influences away from them off the football pitch as well, so that they can fully concentrate on their footballing tasks.

Younes, who has always been on the pitch for Frankfurt since the fourth matchday, is also supposed to continuously rise as a player. Eintracht already made contact during the first coronavirus break in spring to get into position to sign the homegrown talent of Borussia Mönchengladbach. According to information acquired by Transfermarkt, there was a tough battle over the loan modalities and a long toing and froing over Younes’ future. In addition to the chance of returning to the Bundesliga, Younes could have continued to play in Italy – the five-time Germany international had options in Serie A. Genoa had been considering a move for Younes for some time as well.

Younes identified “100 per cent” with Eintracht - Son a client as well now

“In the end, Eintracht showed us a concept that the player could identify with 100 per cent. The people in charge at Eintracht gave the player a very good feeling right from the start,” Knez says. And Younes was prepared to make “very significant concessions financially”, as SGE sporting director Fredi Bobic revealed after the transfer.

And it is not supposed to stop there, because the agency wants to play a bigger role in the German market as well in the future. “We still see a lot of potential here in Germany and would like to push on with this further,” Knez continues.
