Biggest kit deals: Adidas and Nike dominate top ten - Man United ahead of Arsenal
Manchester United and Adidas have extended their cooperation until 2035 – the deal is said to be worth around £900 million (around €1.04 billion) from 2025 onwards. The current agreement, which has been in place since 2015, earns the English record champions €87.5m per season, while under the new deal it will be €104m. Man United are thus closing in on leaders Real Madrid, who also work with Adidas, and continue to rank ahead of Arsenal.
The eleven biggest kit deals in football go to the ten sides with the ten most valuable squads and Juventus. As hardly any club communicates the exact volume of these contracts, this is largely unofficial information, as is the case with most transfer fees.
The fact that Juventus have been receiving almost €51m a season from Adidas since 2019 until 2027 is still due to Cristiano Ronaldo. During his spell in Turin, the Italian record champions were able to extend their contract with Adidas at a significantly improved rate – Ronaldo has been gone since 2021, but the income has remained.
Manchester United’s contract, which runs from 2025, is said to include a clause that allows Adidas to cut payments by 30% if the club misses out on the Champions League for two consecutive seasons. “The relationship between Manchester United and Adidas is one of the most iconic in world sport, forged through a shared commitment to style, flair and, most importantly, high performance,” Man United CEO Richard Arnold said. In 2015, Adidas replaced rival Nike on the Red Devils’ chest, who currently have Barcelona, PSG, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham under contract, among others.
