Manchester United and Liverpool face a battle with Juventus and AC Milan to clinch the signature of Porto forward Jackson Martinez.
The Colombian has netted 22 goals in just 20 league games this season and is rated as one of the hottest strikers in European football.
Both Sir Alex Ferguson and Brendan Rodgers are looking to bolster their forward line during the summer, but they will have to act quickly as Italian newspaper Tuttosport is reporting that both Juventus and Milan are making advanced moves to sign the 26-year-old.
Martinez has a €40m release clause in his contract, but it remains to be seen if clubs will be willing to match that figure at the end of the season.

Mailand hat zwei gute Stürmer und dazu sind sie sicher nicht in der Lage die Klausel zu ziehen. Ganz davon abgesehen, dass es ganz andere Baustellen gibt.

Kein Bedarf. Selbst wenn Pazzini gehen sollte (was ich nicht hoffe), wird mMn nur ein Ergänzungsspieler kommen, der Balotelli vertreten kann. Außerdem ist der gute Jackson ein klein wenig zu teuer. ;)

Momentan kein Bedarf, zu teuer, größere Baustellen. Hier wurde bereits alles gesagt. Ich gebe dem Gerücht eine Wahrscheinlichkeit von 0%.

Dopo aver disputato una stagione eccellente con la maglia del Porto, Jackson Martinez, attaccante colombiano, pare essere uno dei sogni di mercato del Napoli. Come ha rivelato l'agente che rappresenta il calciatore in Italia, ovvero Salvatore Fiore, ai microfoni di Radio Crc, l'anno scorso il ragazzo era stato offerto ad alcune squadre italiane, tra le quali il Milan.

Macht wie schon gesagt wurde keinen Sinn.. selbst wenn Milan das Geld hätte (was sie nicht haben) dann würden sie es in andere Positionen investieren. Seltsames Gerücht.. da werden wohl wieder mal irgendwelche Namen in den Raum geworfen um einen Spieler ins Gespräch zu bekommen... vllt. von seinem Berater? ka..

Come anticipato questa mattina, il primo obiettivo è il colombiano Jackson Martinez, di proprietà del Porto. Ancora nessuna trattativa concreta, ma sono confermati i primi contatti con la dirigenza portoghese. L’idea è un prestito oneroso, con un riscatto di circa 25 milioni. Un’operazione non facile, con una società forte come quella del Presidente Pinto da Costa. Ma il Milan comincia a muoversi, Jackson Martinez è la pista preferita dalla dirigenza rossonera.

With Super Mario on his way to Liverpool, Milan is working on finding his replacement. The rossoneri’s top choice is Porto’s Jackson Martinez, they are ready to offer 25 million for the Colombian striker (4/5 million payable up front and the rest over multiple years). Milan is also working over possible alternatives:

sky italia behauptet das milan bereit ist die 35 Millionen ausstiegsklausel für Martinez zu bezahlen.
