Michael Uchebo zu Stoke City?

VVV Venlo claim that Stoke City are keen to take their Nigerian starlet Michael Uchebo.
However, the 21-year-old is yet to play for Nigeria's national side having been a regular at youth level.
Uchebo is rated very highly and has been labelled the 'new' Kanu in his homeland.
One issue for Stoke would be the struggle to get a work permit for Uchebo, should they make a bid.
But VVV chairman Hai Berden feels they could have a chance depending on how much they would pay for the youngster.
"He has played for several youth teams of Nigeria. Maybe if Stoke City could offer him a good wage the authorities could see a reason to approve him to play in England," Berden told Algmeeen Dagblad.
Uchebo - who joined the club last summer - is out of contract in the summer and VVV are looking to cash in when the transfer market re-opens in January.
"A transfer in the winter break would be very interesting for us," he added.
Der "neue Kanu", wie er in seinem Heimatland Nigeria schon genannt wird, wird mit Stoke City in Verbindung gebracht. Wenn Stoke ein entsprechendes Angebot im Winter abgibt (der SPieler ist im Sommer ablösefrei), würde man ihn gerne nach England abgeben, so Hai Berden von seinem Klub.

Kann jemand etwas zu Uchebo sagen? Die Leistungsdaten klingen nicht gerade berauschend: Letzt Saison nur 6 Tore als Stürmer, diese Saison noch gar keins - und das in der Ehrendivise, in der ziemlich offensiv gespielt wird und sich somit tendenziell bessere Chancen bieten dürften, viele Tore zu machen als in Frankreich oder Italien...

Ich hab Stoke ein paar mal gesehen jetzt in der EL , von daher denke ich das er ganz gut zu Spielweise passt , groß gewachsen , wahr. Kopfballstark ... mit Crouch hätte man dann jetzt 2 richtige riesen im Sturm. Dazu noch die Kopfballstarken verteidiger um Huth ... verteidiger bei einer Standart von Stoke will ich nicht sein ... :p

According to latest rumours, Stoke City management are getting nearer and nearer to sign Nigerian striker Michael Uchebo (21), currently having his own deal with VVV-Venlo expire after the end of 2011/12.

Stoke City plans talks with VVV-Venlo striker Michael Uchebo over a potential move, with the blessing of his Dutch club, the Mail said.
VVV’s Sporting Director Mario Captein was cited as saying by the Mail that it should be seen “as a sort of interview. You always want to talk to a player before you agree to sign them.”
Uchebo, 21, may move before his contract expires at the end of the season, the newspaper reported.

VVV Venlo have revealed that negotiations over the transfer of striker Michael Uchebo to Premier League club Stoke City are at "an advanced stage".

"In regards to the transfer of Uchebo to Stoke City, we are at an advanced stage," he told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
"But there is a possibility that we will get him on loan."
